Venue: The conference will be held in Catania, on the University of Catania campus. The University is the oldest university in Sicily and was founded in 1434 by King Alfonso V of Aragon. The main premises (see photo) are situated in the heart of the city, one block away from the Cathedral, and reflect an era when only the select few made it to university.
Lodging: For those who would like to lodge on campus and in the center of the city, the best option would be Il Principe Hotel which trains students in hospitality management and is the preferred choice of visiting professors at the university. Il Principe is now accepting overnight visitors. The availability of rooms is limited and in high demand.
However, there is no shortage of low-priced lodging in Catania.
IJAS is not responsible for lodging. Each delegate may lodge wherever he or she likes.
Airport: Piazza Universita (University Square) is a 10-minute taxi ride from Sicily's international airport, Catania Fontanarossa Airport (CTA). The airport is accessed by about 55 international airlines.
Every 20 minutes, there is also a metropolitan bus service - AMT Alibus - from the airport to the city center.
